Assessing Information Maturity

enChoice has developed a specialized analysis, built around proven industry practices, to serve as an evaluator of an organization’s current Information Governance maturity. Our Information Governance Maturity Assessment, or IGMA, uses an industry refined benchmarking model, and can serve as the foundation for organizational strategic planning regarding future Information Governance practices.

What is the IGMA?

Simply, the IGMA is an exploratory fact-finding workshop that engages key stakeholders in an organization’s information ecosystem.

Who participates in the IGMA?

Representation from a wide variety of departments is common, including Legal & Compliance, Records Management, Information Technology, and more.

The IGMA uses ARMA International’s Information Governance Implementation Model (IGIM) as the basis for delivering a maturity score.

enChoice's IGMA uses ARMA International’s Information Governance Implementation Model (IGIM) as the basis for delivering a maturity score, and concentrates on the eight key areas and sub-elements of this model that assist organizations in building out a robust information Governance program:

  • Steering Committee
  • Authorities
  • Supports
  • Procedural Framework: (Processes)
  • Capabilities
  • Information Lifecycle: The tasks and practices needed to shephard information throughout its lifecycle
  • Architecture: (Structures)
  • Infrastructure

The IGMA uses a five-point scale to rate organizational competency across each of the seven areas.
